A good pair of sneakers can cost a pretty penny. Running or walking shoes that don’t compromise on comfort and style are often upwards of $120, but that doesn’t always have to be the case. If you’re on a budget—or just don’t feel like shelling out over $100 for a pair of shoes right now—we rounded up all of the top sneakers our editors have tested for $100 or under.

We test dozens of sneakers every year, and each pick on this list is vetted and recommended by WH editors, including some winners from our 2025 Sneaker Awards. There are options for walking, running, recovery, plantar fasciitis, slip-ons, and cross-training. From Brooks to New Balance and Reebok, many top shoe brands offer affordable price points—you just have to know where to look. Luckily, we did all the research for you!

Below, shop our favorite sneaker styles under $100.

Best Shoe for Group Fitness

Reebok Nano Gym

Nano Gym

The Nano Gyms are the definitive hybrid and winner of the best new shoe for group fitness in our 2025 Sneakers Awards.

They’re light and breathable and can be used for multiple cross-training workouts because the cushioning and support make them easily transitional, says exercise physiologist Jordan Farrell, CPT, who wore them all day when teaching classes and doing strength and conditioning workouts. “I love the support of the hard heel, which I don’t always find with a hybrid shoe,” she says.

Talk about accessible—they are easy to slip on and have a secure, comfortably snug (but not tight) fit. With no break-in period, they’re cushioned and don’t pinch at the back or put pressure on the Achilles as other step-in shoes do, says WH deputy visual director Allison Chin, who walked to work in them.

Best Budget Walking Shoe

Skechers Go Walk Joy

Go Walk Joy

For those who appreciate a good slip-on shoe, the Skechers Go Walk Joy’s lightweight, breathable mesh is great for sweaty feet and comes at a bargain price.

The ultra-cushioned midsole also offers great arch support. “I consider these a no-frills walking shoe—perfect for errands, quick trips outside, or for walking your dog if you’re a pet owner,” Executive Health & Fitness Director Jacqueline Andriakos says. “They’re very convenient to keep next to your front door to slip on and go.”

WH managing editor Laura McLaughlin wore these even while on crutches after a meniscus root repair. They were awarded the best new recovery shoe in our 2025 Sneaker Awards.

The toe box and heel were comfortable and fit well, with no slippage, and the two loops made putting the shoe on easy. “I felt safe and secure in them, which is critical when you are relearning how to walk,” she says. “They provided a firm foundation and a stylish profile.”

Amazon Bestselling Walking Shoe

New Balance 608 V5 Casual Comfort Cross Trainer

608 V5 Casual Comfort Cross Trainer
Now 19% Off

The New Balance 608 V5 Trainer has over 38,000 reviews on Amazon, and for good reason. The brand integrated its signature ABZORB midsole, designed to reduce impact on joints when walking, thanks to its cushioning and compression resistance. Although these are supremely comfy, they are not the best for flat feet—New Balance says these are designed for neutral to high arches. While that’s a con, we have a pro to counter it: These come in narrow, standard, and wide sizing.

Best Value Brooks Sneaker

Brooks Revel 8

Revel 8

The Revel 8 is a reliable everyday trainer with soft, supportive cushioning in a cozy mesh upper. The Revel 8 gets a major update from its predecessor with a DNA Loft v2 midsole, the same foam used in the Ghost 15.

Also new: the shoe’s upper. Brooks improved breathability in the Revel 8, so your feet won’t get too sweaty.

574 Core

Picked as the most stylish sneaker in our guide to the best walking shoes for plantar fasciitis, the New Balance 574 Core offers good looks and support to alleviate achy arches. These are specifically designed with a firm wedge of foam in the heel cup on top of plush cushioning to help tame pain in the arch. The slight stiffness and softness keep your feet stabilized without sacrificing comfort.

For everyday walks, casual dinners, or travel, the Reebok Club C platform sneaker is our favorite affordable lifestyle sneaker.
