There’s no denying that Andie MacDowell’s getting better with age. The Hollywood star is looking fitter than ever at 67, and if you're wondering how she does it, you're in the right place.

In an interview with InStyle, Andie revealed the exercise she relies on to look amazing, feel strong and, most importantly, protect herself from the inside out. The key health concern she’s addressing? Bone density.

‘We’re all going in and having our bone density checked. But you can improve your bone density. It’s not like you don’t have a choice,’ she told InStyle. And it seems she’s become quite obsessed with one particular method: ‘I’m addicted now to weights. It’s really what you need to do as you’re ageing.’

And it’s not just weights that form a key part of Andie’s wellness routine. Speaking to Today.com, the star said she likes to get outside for a walk nice and early. ‘It’s really good to get sunlight into your eyes first thing in the morning,’ she said. ‘I love to get in 5 miles. That’s my goal.’

Andie has also praised yoga for keeping her fighting fit – but perhaps her most unusual wellness habit is forest bathing. ‘When I’m away working and I’m really tired, I hug a tree. I don’t care what people think. I don’t care who sees me. I go up and I thank them,’ she says. The result of all her efforts? ‘Everything’s strong. It’s fabulous,’ she told InStyle.

As she’s got older, Andie has pivoted away from the idea of ‘embracing’ age to something even more positive: glorifying it. She told Today.com we should find the beauty in every part of ourselves, even as things change.

‘The beauty of your belly, the beauty of your shape as it changes, the beauty of your neck. That’s something, the beauty of your neck! I think you have to look for ways to glorify how you transform as you age because it’s part of the process,’ she said.
