Making a relationship work under ordinary circumstances is hard enough, but try being elite athletes on top of that. Team USA has five power couples at the Milan Cortina Olympics and Paralympics, and they’re going strong. In fact, one of them just got engaged after meeting at the Beijing Olympics in 2022.

While each member of these power couples has their own athletic feats to achieve, you can bet they’ll be cheering on their SOs when the big moment comes. So, who are the power couples of Team USA? Here’s a breakdown.

Hilary Knight and Brittany Bowe

There's no Heated Rivalry between Hilary Knight and Brittany Bowe. While Knight is a forward and captain for the USA ice hockey team, Bowe is a speed-skating phenomenon. The two ended up going on their first date at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

"Hilary would ask, like, ‘Oh, do you want to go for a walk after dinner?’ And that was our first date, going to walk around the Olympic Village masked because everyone was so fearful of getting COVID," Bowe told People. “We didn't have the family, the friends, no outside distractions. And we really had a lot of time just to get to know each other.”

On February 18, Knight proposed to Bowe in Milan. "Olympics brought us together," she wrote on Instagram. "This one made us forever." Awww!

Madison Chock and Evan Bates

Madison Chock and Evan Bates aren't just a married Olympic couple—they're teammates, too. These figure skaters won two medals together in Milan; gold in the team competition and silver in ice dance. They were first paired up in 2011, but didn't start dating until 2017 and got married in 2024.

Chock told Women's Health in Milan that this Olympic run—their fourth together—has made her husband even more than before. Bates is “a rock, and someone I can lean on and trust with my fears, my dreams,” she said. “I'm just very grateful to have such a wonderful partner.”

“I would say the exact same thing about Madi,” Bates said. “I think when the pressure's on, Madi finds a calm poise that is so admirable, and I'm so grateful for that.”

Oksana Masters and Aaron Pike are seven-time Paralympians, making them seasoned elite athletes. Oksana, who is a biathlete, cyclist, and cross-country skier, is the most decorated U.S. Winter Paralympian of all time, while biathlete, cross-country skier, and runner Aaron is a nine-time world championship medalist.

The two first met in 2013, but really connected at the 2014 Sochi Paralympics, according to NBC. They got engaged in 2022 on a gondola ride that mimicked the setting where they first formed a connection.

Oksana swears they make each other better athletes. “I didn’t start succeeding as an athlete until he came into my life and helped me really feel confident in my abilities and … celebrate the things that I normally diminish,” she said. “When I have really bad days, he understands it. I understand his. And when the really good days come, they’re even better, because you’re celebrating them with your best friend … It’s our secret weapon that we have each other.”

Red Gerard and Hailey Langland

This snowboarding duo is a powerhouse. Red Gerard is an Olympic gold medalist and three-time X Games medalist in slopestyle; Hailey Langland has won multiple X Games medals, too.

The two started dating just weeks before the Pyeongchang Olympics, right before Red won gold in slopestyle, according to ESPN. But the two had been friends for years before that.

"We're so lucky in those moments to be able to talk to someone who really understands," Hailey told ESPN. "It's not like talking to a coach or my dad who doesn't really know because they're not in the exact same position we are in."

Kaysha Love and Hunter Powell

Bobsledders Kaysha Love and Hunter Powell both started their Olympic journeys as track and field stars—Kaysha had a record-setting career as a sprinter at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, while Hunter was a conference champion in indoor heptathlon and outdoor decathlon at Colorado State University.

Kaysha switched to bobsled in 2020, and two years later she was an Olympian. In 2024, she recruited Hunter to try the sport as well. Now they're headed to the Olympics together as fiancés, getting engaged in July 2025. "I love you to the moon and back and infinitely more Kaysha Love," Hunter wrote on Instagram after the proposal. "I always have and I always will."
